Camo Chic Over 50

Don’t miss Day #1 of “How to Wear Camo Chic Over 50 – Day #1” HERE

On Day #1 of this post, I showed you how to wear a chic camo tunic in gray tones.  If you are not ready to go for a full piece of clothing in camo, then just a touch of it with a versatile scarf would be the way to start.

This olive scarf is big enough to provide many different styling options, some of which I have shown below.  This scarf could also be worn as a shawl, around the hip, a handbag tie, beach cover-up and in many other ways.  Experimenting is fun and will reveal the looks that are right for you!  I will be showing it with a jacket in an upcoming post as well.  This scarf is soft and comes in four different color combinations (olive, brown, blue & red).  Shopping link for this great scarf is below along with a further description:

This is the “Single Wrap” way to wear the scarf, wrapped just one time.  Fold the scarf narrow then start with middle of the scarf in the front, toss ends behind your shoulders then cross over ends one time and then bring them to the front.  That’s it!

This is the “Knotted Ends” way to wear the scarf.  Fold the scarf narrow, drape to the front, then just tie a loose knot in each end as shown.  The knots create just enough density and weight for the scarf to hang nicely.

My ankle boots are older and by Lifestride.  I did find a similar Lifestride black ankle boot on Amazon for you HERE and below:

Instead of a necklace, the “Knotted Tie” style is a fun way to wear the scarf.  Instructions are below:

For the “Knotted Tie”, fold the scarf narrow, drape to the front, gather together both ends about halfway up, then tie a firm knot for this look.  The knot creates just enough density and weight for the scarf to hang nicely centered.

Embrace Olive with Camo

My olive t-shirt is a few years old and by Old Navy.  I have found a similar t-shirt for you on Amazon that has great reviews at a great price point.  It is a nice fabric with generous length and arm length for an easy fit.  Shopping link is HERE and below:

Below I am wearing my olive wedge sandals to bring more focus to the overall olive color in this outfit.

I am wearing the olive wedges that I bought on our summer trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia, you can read about that trip HERE.  The picture didn’t pick up the olive color very well, but they go with a lot of outfits.  I like the embellishments, especially the glitzy bling stones on the buckle, and the sides of the heals have an embossed design for even more style.  Oh yes I did…… I plopped these shoes right up on the outside bar that we went to later on.  There was no one around watching, so I went for it, Big Tim wanted to hide, LOL!

I have found a similar olive wedge for you HERE on Amazon, I would totally wear these!

For the softer “Slip Knot” look, fold the scarf narrow and in half.  Center the folded scarf on the back of your neck, then pull the folded end and loose ends to the front, one end on each side of your shoulders.  Then, just slip the loose ends through the folded end and adjust until you have the length and look that you desire.  The adjustable slip knot creates a soft look that can be worn as shown or with a jacket or cardigan for third piece styling.  This is also nice to keep the breeze off as we work through Fall into Winter.  Have fun with camo and scarves, so versatile!
