Vest Yourself with the Third Piece

(Don’t miss Day #1 of this post HERE – with full DIY instructions for the upcycled jeans)

Today’s post is Day #2 of “How to Upcycle Old Jeans with Beaded Fringe” where I show the completed jeans project with two different vests as the third piece to dress up the outfit for day or evening.  If you missed that fun and easy project, you can find the Day #1 post HERE.  The Day #1 post also gives full details and provides links for all of the jewelry and accessories I am also wearing in this second post.

A vest is a great option as a third piece for a dressy-casual look.  Plus, when it is not quite cold enough for a big heavy coat, a vest keeps the chill off without feeling smothering.

I found my brand of vest on Amazon, but it is updated and in navy blue.  I have had the vest for several years.  It is great quality and has lasted through many washing while still looking brand new.  The  listing shows that it still has the faux fur collar along with a flattering updated longer rounded hem, adjustable waist and snap front pockets which would be great for your cell phone, etc.  100% washable polyester.

I also found a different brand in brown plus many other colors.  This Auline’ Collection brand has a removable fur trimmed hood, adjustable waist, and front zip pockets.  Links to both bests are below:

A great seasonal option is the suede sandal type bootie with chunky heal that will be a very popular look this Fall.  This shoe looks great with many different types of jeans and pants, especially when you are not needing a full boot and open sandal season is gone while we are transitioning to Fall.

Kick Up the Vest with Fun Faux Fur

A fur vest is never out of style.  Just a touch is all you need for this fashion piece, so a little bit goes a long way.  I think the key to wearing fur is to not go overboard with it and for it to be realistic looking.  I chose mine due to the smoothness of the fibers and for the length that is not overwhelming.  There are many different styles and colors on the market today, so if you prefer longer or a designer color it is probably out there.  Most of them are “dry clean only”, but I have never had a need to wash it at all.  If I get something on it, then it is easy to just surface clean with a damp cloth.

I have had my vest for several years now, but I did find a similar one for you on Amazon.  The shopping link is below:

The black top and black shoes keep the fur in check for a balanced look.  My black gladiator wedge sandals are older by Naturalizer.  I found a similar option for you by Aerosoles here at Amazon.
