Mustard Yellow with a Southwest Twist
I hope you are enjoying this multi-day series on wearing mustard yellow for Fall with several different options! If you missed the beginning of the series, you can read the Day #1 post of the series HERE, and the Day #2 post of the series HERE.
As a refresher, the looks are built around this comfortable, easy-to-wear mustard yellow blouse from Amazon, shopping link below:

For today’s post, I chose to switch up the look with a Southwest feel using light-washed denim and a faux turquoise, coral and silver statement necklace; along with concho belt and silver drop earrings. I really enjoy the options of a Southwest outfit that can go from very casual to casual chic. The mustard yellow blouse becomes the backdrop color paired with denim and this fun statement necklace from Amazon.

I have discovered a treasure trove of quality fashion jewelry on Amazon and will be purchasing a few more of these statement necklaces since they are such an easy and inexpensive way to create a new look for wardrobe pieces you may already have. A basic look, such as a t-shirt and jeans becomes casual chic with just a few accessories such as these.

I always say that cheetah goes with everything, LOL. Don’t be afraid to mix when it is something subtle like my cheetah Fitbit band, I left it on since it is kind of a neutral piece and goes along for the ride without much distraction.

I also chose sleek silver tone metal accessories to cool down the mustard yellow and add sparkle and texture to play off of the denim and statement necklace. The silver tone concho belt is one that I have had for several years, but I found a similar belt on Amazon, shopping links are below:

Shoe Options with Mustard Yellow
In this photo, I went with a neutral leather-look ankle strap sandal wedge which balances the mustard yellow and denim look. Did you know that this style shoe has been around since the 1940s, if not before? My wedges are by Merona which is a Target brand that I have had for around three years now. I have found more options for you — I LOVE this style by Crocs on Amazon, the upper is all leather, Crocs are so comfortable.

Another seasonal option is the suede sandal type bootie with chunky heal that will be a very popular look this Fall. This shoe looks great with many different types of jeans and pants, especially when you are not needing a full boot and open sandal season is gone while we are transitioning to Fall.

Building the Look with Mustard Yellow
You can read about my dive into reading glasses and these fashion reading glasses in the Day #2 post of this series HERE. What a fun find for a set of 3 pair on Amazon! This time, I have chosen the Red Bottom Reading Glasses to play off of the coral in the statement necklace, but any of the 3 pair in this set would coordinate well.

Adding the Third Piece with Mustard Yellow
To top off this mustard yellow with denim look, the hip length denim jacket is a great option. You can add a denim jacket to almost any outfit for a more structured yet casual look. Mixing different washes and textures of denim usually work very well together. I do not remember where I bought this jacket, but have had it for at least 10 years and it is still in fashion. As a matter of fact, I may have saved it from the giveaway pile from when one of my daughters decided she didn’t want it from way back when. I found a very similar option for you here on Amazon at a good price point.

Hi Lori Jo! I enjoyed all three posts very much! I especially like yesterday’s, and the jewelery you wore with the mustard top, for some reason I really liked the faded denim look the best, but you looked awesome in all three looks! It must be the pop of turquoise jewelery, there was a time when I always matched my jewelery to whatever I was wearing, but now I do the opposite most of he time. I would love to see you style some plaid fall looks….. Plaid is everywhere now! Just a thought…. Lol……have a wonderful day!
Hey, Kathy! So glad you are enjoying this series with mustard. Isn’t it fun to reinvent our style to fit our personality and not have too many “rules”? Good idea with plaid, I have seen it and will certainly work that in, also camo is big… but just a touch of that to stay chic. Thanks for visiting, sweet friend!
