Casual Pinstripe with a Pop Summer is winding down on the calendar here in Georgia, but it is still hot which could last through October.  In the meantime, casual cooler clothing with a few subtle options gradually carries us into Fall.  This pinstripe t-shirt paired with dark cropped jeans is a mix of Summer and a hint at Fall with the dark denim.   The nautical/beachy look to the t-shirt pops off of the dark jeans and backdrops the focal gold necklace – other jewelry is kept to a minimum for this casual look with a simple gold bracelet and earrings. Don’t Shy Away from Pinstripe, the Friendly Horizontal Stripe Yes, wide horizontal stripes can make us look wider and somewhat like a bumble bee, LOL.  But, a very thin pinstripe with plenty of contrasting color in between works for most body types for a flattering fresh look.  Just pay attention…

Do you sometimes feel that Life is a Circus and you are the Ring Master? I recently wrote this guest post about my midlife circus for a lovely Australian blogger whom I met through a blogger friend of hers via a Pinterest group.  Her name is Sue of “Sizzling Towards Sixty & Beyond”.  My post went live on her site last week, so I am re-posting it here on my blog in case you missed my mention of it on my Facebook page. Please also visit Sue’s blog for the original posting of my submission and to see what Sue has to offer – You will find great content on her site, she has been blogging for a few years now and has been a great help and inspiration to me.  You can link to Sue’s blog HERE. How to Boil Eggs and Egg Facts, But First….. I have always been healthy food conscious, even more so in later life and now that I am on the brink of my 58th birthday which is actually tomorrow, so that is more than a brink, right? LOL.  And now, on my birthday eve, I choose to write about eggs.  My family has a history of heart issues.  I have had some elevated cholesterol readings and need to keep my foods lean, clean and low-fat with  plenty of exercise.  Surprisingly, my research reading revealed that one egg each day is actually good for your health due to the powerhouse of nutrition within each egg and doesn’t impact cholesterol as once thought.  Keep reading for more on this, but first…… After watching the 1967 movie, “Cool Hand Luke”, I never thought I would want another egg, especially a boiled egg, for the…

Seasonal Transition with Kimono Style Kimonos are a great affordable way to extend your wardrobe by adding something special to casual outfits for a completed chic look.  There are so many styles and colors available, the combinations are endless.  This khaki version is a nice transition into Fall or Spring.  I purchased this kimono from Amazon, shopping links are provided below for your convenience. // Kahki Floral Kimono // I am very pleased with the quality and easy care of this lightweight kimono from Amazon.  Since we are still HOT here in Georgia, it will be a few months before we actually feel any cool from Fall weather.  In the meantime, this khaki floral kimono is a nice transition from Summer to Fall with the neutral tone and just a touch of floral.  It is a nice weight to keep the chill off when shopping, dining out or going to…

Handkerchief Hem Comfort Tunic I am having so much fun shopping with Amazon!   Most purchases continue to please me with great quality and I really enjoy the variety of brands and fashion that they offer.  I always read the reviews and full description of the items and have yet to be disappointed, and it’s really fun to have most things within just two days.  Reading the size chart is also important, the size chart is  highlighted in blue right next to the drop-down size selection menu when you are ordering this tunic. I LOVE this fun tunic with its handkerchief hem.  It gives the top flow without too much bulk and is flattering to most body types.  The solid teal background with just the right amount of paisley-type block print gives it clean style without being too busy or overwhelming. This tunic top is offered in several different prints and…
