Faux Suede for Summer
Putting together interesting combinations is all part of enjoying your clothing, especially if you are reinventing your style and making new discoveries. I discovered this fun faux suede top at a vintage store last summer, and then was lucky enough to also find it on Amazon for you! It is a flattering flow halter style top, but is not backless (I do recommend a strapless bra). It is by the Andree by Unit brand which also has multiple flattering flow styles shown on Amazon. When you land on this particular top, their name is highlighted in blue near the heading of the item that will take you to all of their listings. Here is a link for the top:

I am barefooted to show you my “natural tan”, LOL, still loving my sunless tanner. You have to be careful on your feet so it doesn’t get too intense, that skin is thinner and will tan differently from legs and arms; I put it on my feet three days in a row, then switched to about every third day now. Big T commented that he thought my feet were “getting a little deep”, so I backed off to keep it real. You can read more about the Jergens Tanner in my previous swimsuit post here. I noticed that several of you have ordered the Amazon twin-pack deal, which is a good way to stay stocked on this great tanner, it was sold out in my local area a few times already. Here is an easy shopping link to order yours:
Faux Suede with Red
A burst of red really works with this peachy-beige top and takes it up a notch from being a calm neutral; peachy tones work with most skin tones also. The red necklace, earrings and sandals give it a chic balanced look that is not overdone. I will be trying other accessory and shoe color combinations with it for completely different looks. Adding a jacket, shrug, scarf, kimono or sweater will carry it from Spring through Fall.
I have had the red sandals for a couple of years, they are “Rayana” by Life Stride with light support. I found similar styles for you on Amazon:
This Andree by Unit brand Faux Suede Top is lined behind the upper layer that is a laser cut design. The fabric is a lightweight synthetic suede that is soft and comfortable. I really like how the cut work detail adds more texture to the outfit. When I do not want to wear print, texture is the way to go for added interest without a lot of busy color pattern.
You can read about my necklace and gold wrapped wire bracelet in this previous post from our trip to Blue Ridge. I found a similar red necklace and earring option for you here at Amazon. By adding a gold chain to the red Amazon necklace, the look would be almost identical.
Here are similar Red Crystal Drop Earrings on Amazon, really fun to wear with so many things. I change out the wires to longer ones when the earrings do not show below my hair in the front, very easily done.
Faux Suede with Denim
The look of suede with denim is such a classic and so versatile with different seasonal accessories and shoes. In cooler weather, picture this with turquoise jewelry, denim jacket, long jeans and ankle boots for more of a southwestern look. I will be wearing that look as soon as there is a hint of Fall in the air!
This is a lighter tone accent shoe option if you want more of a neutral look. These tan wedge platform sandals are called “Vibrant” and are by Naturalizer (2-1/4″ heel, 1″ platform front, cushioned insole), you can shop a similar style here at Amazon.
As you can see below, I wore this outfit with different shoes and jewelry on our trip to Mt. Rushmore last summer that also included Jackson Hole, Wyoming! We were only there for one night on our tour, but I do want to go back to Jackson Square for more exploring, I love the antler arches, so unique. NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED for the antlers. The antlers are shed naturally out in the wild where the Boy Scouts gather them up as a fundraiser. What a beautiful, unique project for this region of our country.
