Georgia seems to have finally eased into more pleasant weather. Just in time for lighter weight colorful clothing for Cinco de Mayo! Honey and I went out to dinner with our longtime neighbors, Dick and Nancy, last Friday night for festivities at “Azul Tequila Taqueria & Cantina” here in Peachtree City. Great food and they had live music for the occasion. Did you know that Honey and I always celebrate in full-out native attire?
NOT…..! Ha! Gotcha, I’m a sucker for the face-in-the-hole props every time! But I did wear this:
This red striped top is a lightweight gauze material that I bought from Target a few weeks ago. It is a relaxed fit with above elbow short bell sleeves, square neckline and rounded hemline. I have had the sandals for a couple of years, they are “Rayana” by Life Stride with light support. I found similar styles here and here on Amazon. I am trying white toenail polish for the first time, I like it for a clean look with the white jeans.
My favorite white jeans are the Mid-Rise Super Skinny style from Old Navy. They have plenty of stretch and are comfortable. I did go up one size to have a smooth look, but probably could have stayed with my actual size. They do relax after wearing for a few hours. I rolled up the cuffs one roll for a dressier look with sandals. More skin showing above the ankle makes your legs look longer and leaner. I struggle with being 5’1″, a taller look helps with looking balanced.
I zoomed in on the necklace to show you how I doubled up the long chain to make it a shorter length. It shows off more of the blouse. Honey gave me this fashion necklace for Christmas two years ago; I thought it was too bulky but it has become my favorite now. It goes with everything and can be worn long or short. I may try it as a statement bracelet wrapped three times. Necklace is from Lizard Thicket. Earrings are from Versona. Bracelet is from Avon a few years ago.
A looser blouse like this can be worn in the front tuck style. Give that a try for a younger, trendy look. It is flattering and makes your waist look slimmer while still draping softly around hips and sides of the waist. Many of us often prefer some camouflage in those areas. Last but not least, this vintage wooden box handbag came from my mother a long, long time ago. I like the exotic look, but really have not used it, it is more of a keepsake. She worked at a boutique in Naples, Florida in the 1970’s and enjoyed unusual accessories. The only place I could find it recently was on eBay, they are quite pricey now since they are vintage. Do you know of this brand and enjoy unusual handbags such as this?
