I am so thrilled that “50 With Flair” is steadily gaining followers, I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you!  There have been great comments, interaction and ideas.  I have been asked to show inspiration for “Athleisure” through “Business Casual”.  Today’s outfit shows a different type of color combination with a business casual feel.  I think it would also be appropriate for church, an evening out, any occasions where you need a more complete look.

OOTD, Over 50 Fashion, Business Casual, Black and Brown with White Cardigan, 50 With FlairBlack and brown is an interesting combination for any season.  Lightweight fabrics with sandals and the white cotton cardigan lighten up the whole look for Spring and Summer.  I recently bought this thin smooth knit cardigan at Old Navy, it has some structure for a soft jacket look.  Here is another option:  I really like this cardigan from Amazon, it comes in a lot of colors, I may need a few more as colorful accent pieces, great price point! I almost forgot that I had these cute sandals!  Do you ever do that?  Get in a rut and wear the same shoes all the time and “lose” shoes in your own closet? LOL.  These are a comfortable wedge with an ankle strap and a zipper detail up the back.  I do not have to unzip the zipper to put on and take off, I just use the buckle strap. If you go for a style like this, be sure there is elastic in the ankle like mine so that it gives with your foot when you walk and won’t be binding.  I have options for you below.  Brown Wedge Sandal, OOTD, Over 50 Fashion, Business Casual, Black and Brown with White Cardigan, 50 With FlairThis ankle strap wedge style has been around since the 1940s, if not before.  My wedges are by Merona which is a Target brand, they are around three years old.  But, I have found more options for you — I LOVE this style by Nine West on Amazon, cute criss-cross detail with a GREAT price point.  Here is another option by Crocs on Amazon, the upper is all leather, Crocs are so comfortable.  Here is one more pair by Kenneth Cole on Amazon that has lots of color options.  Ladies, I am going to be doing some shoe shopping, so cute and affordable.  OOTD, Over 50 Fashion, Business Casual, Black and Brown with White Cardigan, 50 With FlairYa’ll, I am still trying to learn my new digital camera, hoping my next set of images will be better!   Here are similar options for you for the fashion jewelry I am wearing, mine are all a few years old.  Goldtone zodiac necklace here at Amazon.  Black tassel necklace here at AmazonStretch pearl bracelet is from Avon, here is a similar option from Amazon Option for similar goldtone drop earrings is here at Amazon.OOTD, Over 50 Fashion, Business Casual, Black and Brown with White Cardigan, 50 With FlairHere is the look with a black gladiator wedge sandal.  Mine are older by Naturalizer.  Similar option for you by Aerosoles here at Amazon.  I am showing the “half tuck” look with this blouse since it is soft and drape-y.  All in or all out would look good also.  I am short-waisted, so I try different things to look taller, always! ha!  I am wearing black jeans from Old Navy (details below), but you could step the look up with a flattering pair of dress pants.   My favorite black pants are by Ellen Tracy. They are a washable non-pilling polyester fabric with a narrow leg and a slit accent on the ankle, side zipper and all smooth on front and back.  I bought them on clearance from Stein Mart a few years ago.  Amazon has the Ellen Tracy side zip pants here!  I am wearing the pants in a previous post here.  OOTD, Over 50 Fashion, Business Casual, Black and Brown, 50 With FlairIt depends on your office environment, but I never went completely sleeveless when I worked in the stiff corporate world as an Executive Assistant back in the 80s.  Of course, things have changed a lot and become more casual, so this may be appropriate for some, but I prefer it with the cardigan for a more structured look in a business meeting, interview, etc.  The “third piece” always adds a more formal look.  I cannot remember where I bought this blouse a few years ago.  It is by Rafaella and is actually a snake print fabric with a long tie at the neck that I tuck in; tying it into a bow does not work for me.  Dark brown prints are fairly easy to find.  The black jeans are from Old Navy, I am wearing the Mid-Rise Super Skinny style in the regular cut.  OOTD, Over 50 Fashion, Business Casual, Black and Brown with White Cardigan, 50 With Flair

I’m enjoying the daily posts too! I’ve got to get myself over to Old Navy and get some super skinny jeans! Thanks for posting a business casual tip.

The basic t-shirts are also good at Old Navy, and the Pixie capris that could be part of business casual. I hope to become an affiliate with them soon to provide sale links, etc. More visitors and followers with the blog and social sites will help with that.
