Are you afraid to wear certain colors, or much color at all?  Do you wear a lot of black because it is the safe color or because it is just the easiest thing to throw on?  I am telling you today, STOP IT!  You heard me, just STOP IT!  LOL!  Fresh, rich colors are our friend in fashion, especially as we age. Color near the face brightens and brings your eyes and skin tone alive.  Next to wearing some type of makeup, it is the best thing we can do for ourselves, so embrace color!  One of the best colors to start with is a medium coral color.  This color looks good on everyone whether your hair and skin are dark or light. It adds a refreshing glow to your whole look and is a welcoming color to wear, it is a happy color.  Pick a coral that is not too…

Yes, you CAN wear a jumpsuit!  The jumpsuit is a timeless, chic essential for your wardrobe that has been in style for generations going back to the 1930s.  There are so many options to choose from today that you will probably find more than one design and fabric that works for you and your lifestyle.  I bought my navy jumpsuit from Avon about two years ago.  My 3-strand stretch pearl bracelet is also from Avon, here is a similar jumpsuit option from Amazon.  Similar option for my  silver-tone earrings is here at Amazon.  I bought my silver link necklace from Belk about two years ago. I chose this solid navy jumpsuit for versatility.  It can be worn with many types of jewelry and shoes.  I have worn it to weddings as well as dinner and birthday parties.  The open work gives it some extra detail that is not distracting.  I do wear a skin…

I am so thrilled that “50 With Flair” is steadily gaining followers, I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you!  There have been great comments, interaction and ideas.  I have been asked to show inspiration for “Athleisure” through “Business Casual”.  Today’s outfit shows a different type of color combination with a business casual feel.  I think it would also be appropriate for church, an evening out, any occasions where you need a more complete look. Black and brown is an interesting combination for any season.  Lightweight fabrics with sandals and the white cotton cardigan lighten up the whole look for Spring and Summer.  I recently bought this thin smooth knit cardigan at Old Navy, it has some structure for a soft jacket look.  Here is another option:  I really like this cardigan from Amazon, it comes in a lot of colors, I may need a few more as…

I guess you could say that today was “Beauty Day”.  I just got back from my 5-week haircut with Nicole, and before that I had an appointment with a local skin care center to laser off a dime-size dark sun spot that surfaced a few years ago.  My dermatologist said that it was just an “age spot” and nothing to worry about, but I could have it burned off if it continued to bother me.  After constantly covering it with concealer, it was time to get rid of that cyclops near my collar bone.  I have a follow-up in four weeks to give it a final zap if it has not all gone away by then.  I will post a before and after picture at that time with a “Beauty” post.  It only took three zaps that felt like pin pricks and was a bit warm, did not really hurt…

Our Atlanta Braves are winning, whoop!  And that works for me since my favorite sport is BASEBALL!  How about you?  Is there a sport you look forward to every season?  My dad and I became big baseball buddies when I was around 9 years old. He taught me all about it, I collected baseball cards and the whole deal.  We had not lived in Naples, Florida for very long when my dad made friends with an older man in our neighborhood, “Mr. Ingle”.   Mr. Ingle had a little t.v. in his garage where we would all sit watching baseball while he spit on the floor, gross!  Somehow it wasn’t gross back then, it was just part of watching the game, LOL!   This is a fun way to dress up a “sporty casual” oufit.  Very comfortable yet feminine for any type of outdoor event such as sports, picnics, etc.  I am…

Happy Sunday, everyone!   And, Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms! I am thrilled to be a mother and adore my two daughters who are 27 and 25 now, love you Lindsay and Sara!  My Sara was actually born on Mother’s Day on May 9, 1993. “50 With Flair” is designed to be a positive, informative, fun place to be!  I will not drag on about negative things, but did want to share a bit about today being Mother’s Day, which has always been a mixed bag for me, as it may be for others.  This day, of course, brings my own mother to mind.  She has been gone for two years now and has actually been on my mind a lot lately. She always did vow to come back and haunt me, LOL!  I can laugh about it all in hindsight now……. Yes, my mother had issues, she suffered…

Using your casual wardrobe pieces with dressier pieces and accessories is an easy way to get a great Dressy Casual look.  Navy with gold is a neat looking classic that is very versatile.  Navy is a fresh softer option from wearing basic black all of the time.  This look is appropriate for Casual Fridays at work,  dinner out with friends, going to the movies, a home party, and many more occasions. This body skimming hip length t-shirt knit top is by Ellen Tracy.  I bought this at Stein Mart a couple of years ago.  The gold embellishment at the neckline adds fashion to the look, but any similar navy top will work. The interchangeable snap cuff bracelet will be available in my Etsy shop soon, Designs by Lori Jo These are the Mid-Rise Super-Skinny Ankle Jeans from Old Navy.  Don’t let the word “skinny” fool you, these are super soft…

Today was a productive day.  I was able to adjust the settings on my camera for better pictures and shot 10 outfits, whew!  Now I have enough images to write daily posts past next week.  I put all of the clothing and equipment away and cleaned up just before Honey got home around 3:00 p.m., then we went out for early primary voting in our area.  Tim leaves for work at 4:30 a.m., gets home around 3:00 p.m., then heads off to bed between 8:00-9:00 p.m. with me close behind.  We have always been on an early schedule like this due to his job.  I usually start fixing dinner right after lunch, but my new blogging schedule will modify that since I am having so much fun with my Flair Seekers.  I will post Monday through Friday, take Saturday off, then have a short Flair Share post on Sundays. The Wrap Top is…

Sharing this because it makes me laugh.  Big T (my hubby) and I were  recently zooming around town in my 5-year-old Kia Sorrento SUV, the “Black Beauty”.  I named it this because I only get a new car every 10-15 years and want to keep it nice, so I park way far away from other cars in parking lots. I call that the “No Ding Zone”, my family calls it crazy, ha!  Anyway, I was doing the driving to give Big T a break since he commutes to work every day.  He likes to tell me how to drive and I tell him to “just sit there and hush”, that is just how it goes.  He is also always worried that I am going to bump his rider mower when I pull into the garage since it is right in front of where I park. This time when I pulled…

Who LOVES to go grocery shopping?  I have to admit, it is not my favorite thing.  I have to be comfortable and psyched up with a complete list so we are stocked for at least a week or two.  The stores are usually freezing cold and there is a lot of walking, so comfy shoes and light coverage on my arms is a must.  This casual look is simple and put together in a way where I feel presentable if I have unexpected places to go, and that I can modify quickly if need be. This outfit is actually super dark navy, so I can pull off wearing it with the super comfy black Crocs Meleen Twist Sandals – Amazon still has them in EIGHT colors here, exciting and affordable!   The teal knit sleeveless top gives this outfit a big punch of color, do not be afraid to wear brighter…
